MARCUS SAMUELSSON GROUP
Located in the heart of Harlem, Red Rooster serves comfort food celebrating the roots of American cuisine and the diverse culinary traditions of the neighborhood. Named in honor of the legendary Harlem speakeasy that attracted neighborhood folk, jazz greats, authors, politicians and some of the most noteworthy figures of the 20th century.
Co-Creators Andrew Chapman and Marcus Samuelsson have long wanted to open a restaurant that would have a positive impact on the neighborhood’s culinary landscape and its community at-large. At Red Rooster we want to share the story of Harlem with our guests, and offer a platform to celebrate local artists, musicians and culinary talents.
RED ROOSTER HARLEM™
Wander downstairs at the Red Rooster Harlem and you’ll soon pick up the trail of its spirited sister venue. With a hat tipped to Harlem’s Renaissance, Ginny’s Supper Club is a modern reincarnation of the glamorous speakeasies and Harlem nights of the Twenties – an intimate lounge with a warm bourbon glow and an even warmer welcome.
GINNY'S SUPPER CLUB™
Streetbird is a rotisserie chicken restaurant that has its roots in street food from around the world. Inspired by Harlem Americana, we look to the birth of hip hop, as well as street culture for aesthetic inspiration.
Streetbird is fast, fun, fresh, and familiar. It's where you can pick up a rotisserie bird on your way home from work, have it delivered from our kitchen to yours in minutes, or kick back with friends and family in the restaurant to celebrate a birthday, or even just a Tuesday. Streetbird often hosts pop-up events featuring local fashion designers, artists, and authors, as well as live musical performances by local and international artists.
Newark is a unique and historically rich city that we are honored to be a part of. We invite you to join us at Marcus B&P where Chef Marcus Samuelsson brings his passion for food and culture to the neighborhood we are so proud to call our home.
Named for the Swedish concept of BP or “back pocket,” this is a spot where you can meet your family, friends, or coworkers at the Bar (the “B”) or take home some delicious locally grown Provisions (the “P”) any night of the week.
At Marcus at MGM National Harbor, chef Samuelsson opened his first restaurant in the DMV area. Celebrating classic American dishes with his signature twist and inspired by local Maryland ingredients and traditions. Designed by Parts & Labor Design, the restaurant's aesthetic focuses on a rediscovery of American craft rooted in African American influences.
Invoking a French bistro, the space includes an 84-seat main dining room with wooden coffered ceilings and a deep amber color palette as well as an open kitchen and raw bar. The space additionally includes a 21-seat bar.

Creating a social meeting place is our main focus – regardless of whether you’re seated facing the panoramic views across the urban Skanstull Bridges, around our “community tables” or feeling the pulse of Söder in our outdoor seating area.
Marcus Samuelsson has put his signature on the restaurant and holds the role of creative chef. He has, with his influences and experiences from all over the
world, helped to create this social meeting place where food and drink are as important as the atmosphere and the feeling you get.
At Norda Bar & Grill, we are inspired by the local street classics, we just serve them in our own, unique way – with quality ingredients, careful preparation and great love. That is why you will find both the “Half special” and “Mac and Cheese” here, sharing a menu with the best, sophisticated seafood and meat dishes. And how wonderful it is to sit in the historic, conservation-listed Post Hallen (Postal Hall) – with its fossil-blasted stone floor, stylishly contrasted by the modern Italian furniture adorning it and the trendy beats that flood through it. Norda Bar and Grill is simply a casual meeting place with really good food and exciting décor, without being fussy.

Like the hotel around it, Marcus’ is a visually striking affair, arrayed with modern art from the hotel’s owners, including original pieces by Andy Warhol, Liu Ye and Nelson Mandela amongst others. The signature restaurant occupies the former Gazebo Room, once a grand ballroom, offering a central bar and views of the ocean. An open kitchen with a wood burning grill located opposite is a show all in its own, with chefs creating Samuelsson’s specialty dishes.
